We are all green these days- but most of us are pale green.
What is pale green?
Pale green is caring about the environment- but not being anti human.
Pale greens believe in freedom. Many deep greens are driven by a deep control issues. The word ‘unregulated’ is almost a swear word for them. They would like to tell you what to eat, where to live and how to dress. They are suspicious of anyone who seeks a higher standard of living for themselves and their families. A deep green society would probably resemble China during the Cultural Revolution. Neighbour would spy upon neighbour to see if they were recycling properly.
Pale greens reject all authoritarian solutions. In practace this means trusting the market to clear up its own mess- which it has always done in the past.
There is no masochism in the pale green. The deep green may take a perverted pleasure in his complicated solutions and is prey to every quack remedy and con man out there.
Rather like Gandhi- it takes a great deal of money to keep a deep green in poverty.
The pale green is the exact opposite. He can live well on a small budget because he is not wasteful.
